What is the difference between upstream and downstream cruises?

Upstream and downstream cruises include the same sights and excursions. Cruises sailing Chongqing to Yichang are 4 days and 3 nights, while Yichang to Chongqing cruises are 5 days and 4 nights (downstream cruises sail with the current and are a bit faster).

What is included in the price of Yangtze River Cruise?

What is the currency for Online Booking?

US dollars. Our secure online booking payment gateway is PayPal, and you could choose to pay by credit card, such as VISA, MasterCard.

How far in advance should I book a cruise?

We recommend that you book as early as possible to secure your preferred cruise. The Yangtze Cruise trip is very popular, especially in peak seasons. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Are triples permitted?

Most cabins are not roomy enough to include a third bed. For three passengers traveling together, it is suggested that the third passenger reserve a single or share basis in a separate cabin.

On China Goddess 3 ship, three passengers may consider the Family Suite. On China Goddess 1 and 2, some cabins may add one extra bed. For such bookings, please contact our customer service contact@dameicruises.com to help you make the booking.

 

If I travel alone, is it possible to make a cruise booking?

Yes. You can either book  a single room directly via the online booking. Or contact us to help you make a booking if you’d like to share the cabin with another solo traveler of same gender. For single share basis — Sharing is permitted in a standard cabin only; the cruise line will pair you with another passenger of the same sex, and the single supplement will not be charged.

Do cabins have balconies?

Yes, all cabins on Damei Cruise ships sold online are outside cabins with private balconies.

 

Do ships have elevators?

All ships of Damei Cruises are featured with elevators, but those who have difficulty climbing stairs can request a cabin on one of the lower decks.

What type of meal is provided?

On our cruise ships, sumptuous western and Chinese buffets are offered at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

What kinds of credit cards can be used on board?

For online purchases, we accept Visa, MasterCard.

What is the voltage on board?

220 volts (110 volts in the bathroom).

What activities are included on board when passengers are not on shore excursions?

Among the daytime activities are early morning tai chi, informative lectures about China and the Yangtze River, painting demonstrations, acupuncture demonstrations, lessons in Chinese language, calligraphy, mahjong and silk kite flying. In the evening, guests can enjoy cultural presentations, traditional fashion shows and crew performances. Feature films and news broadcasts are available on your cabin television.

Does the ship have a fitness room?

Yes, each ship has a small fitness room, with some equipment.

How should I dress on the ship?

Casual attire is recommended both on board and on shore excursions. Be sure to have a pair of comfortable walking shoes for excursions. For the Captain’s Welcome Party, a jacket and tie for gentlemen and dress or dress pants for ladies is suggested.

Are safe deposit boxes available?

Yes, you may place your valuables in a safe deposit box in your room.

Is there laundry service?

Same day wash and pressing service is available at additional cost, except on the final day of the cruise. We do not offer dry cleaning service.

Is there Wi-Fi on board?

Yes, free WiFi is available on all Damei China Goddess cruise ships.

Are hair dryers available?

Yes, a hair dryer is available in your room.

Is smoking permitted on the ship?

No smoking is permitted inside the ship. Smoking is only permitted on the outside observation deck.
